J. B. Mills Museum Gift Shop
"J.B." loved his home town and its rich history. He worked to make sure the history was passed down to the younger generations.
J. B. was very active in Fort Mill. He served on the town council; all the sport booster clubs for the schools; promoted softball and other sports for the town; loved to play golf, and tell others how they could improve their game!
He chaired the York County Committee that brought natural gas to the county. There is a room named in his honor at the York County Gas Building. He also chaired the committee overseeing the building of the bowling alley and swimming pool for Colonel Springs.
J. B. was well known for predicting how many snows we would have in Fort Mill each year; and for sharing his home remedies....' example: spraying WD 40 on your knees to stop arthritis pain'; this one may have worked for him because he continued to bowl, play golf and softball into his later years.
Mr. J.B. was truly one of Fort Mill's best loved 'characters'! You will be reminded again of his famous "sayings" on the walls of the gift shop.
